Our results come directly from the official government EPC register maintained by DLUHC. The data is as accurate as the original assessment carried out by a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor.
If your property doesn't appear, it may not have an EPC yet. EPCs are only created when a property is built, sold, or let. Very old properties that haven't changed hands may not have one. You can commission a new EPC from a qualified assessor.
Currently our search works best with postcodes. Enter a full UK postcode (e.g. SW1A 1AA) for the most accurate results. We'll show all properties with EPCs in that postcode area.
A is the most energy efficient (92+ points) and G is the least (1–20 points). Most UK homes are rated D. A higher rating means lower energy bills and carbon emissions. See our full guide.
The potential rating shows what your property could achieve if all the recommended energy improvements were made. It's an estimate based on the assessor's recommendations and gives you a target to aim for.
The government EPC register is updated continuously as new certificates are lodged. Our tool pulls data directly from this register in real time, so you'll always see the latest available information.
